Short answer
Split the project into work blocks with clear goals. Choose Pomodoro mode in Domi, start the first action, and leave a note about what to do next when the block ends. Use the timeline to make room for the remaining sessions.
Give each block a result
For a report, use a sequence such as outline, draft, check evidence, and edit. The first session does not need to finish the report; it needs to move one part forward.
Choose a block goal you can assess when the timer ends. “Draft the opening section” is easier to review than “be productive.”
| Block | Goal | What to leave ready |
|---|---|---|
| Outline | List the sections and main point | A structure to draft from |
| Draft | Write one rough section | Text to improve later |
| Evidence | Check the sources for that section | Accurate supporting details |
| Edit | Tighten the section and its transitions | A section ready to join the report |
Set a session you can start
Domi combines adjustable 1–60 minute focus sessions, Pomodoro breaks, and ambient sound. Choose the duration that fits the task and your available time.
If twenty-five minutes feels too large for the first step, start shorter. Opening the document and writing the outline can be a complete first action.
- Add the project’s first action to Domi.
- Choose your focus duration or Pomodoro mode.
- Start with that action in view.
- At the break, note what is done and what comes next.
Leave a restart note
Before stepping away, write a brief next action: “Continue with the customer example,” or “Check the figures in paragraph two.” This saves you from rereading the entire project to find your place.
Keep interruptions in the task list rather than letting each one replace the current block. Decide where they fit when you return to the timeline.
Plan the next block around real commitments
A long project may need several sessions across the day. Place them around appointments and leave space for breaks and other work.
When a block runs long, adjust the next flexible task in Domi. Keep the fixed meeting in place and choose the next piece of the project that fits before it.
Questions
Must every focus session be twenty-five minutes?
Domi lets you choose a 1–60 minute session. Use a duration that fits the action and the time you have.
What if the task is unfinished when the timer ends?
Write the next action, decide whether to continue or take a break, and give the remaining work another place in the plan.
