Short answer
Compare the result with your source or brief. Choose the main mismatch—subject, background, framing, lighting, or detail—and change that part of the request. Keep the rest similar so you can see what the new instruction does.
Name what is wrong before changing the prompt
“Make it better” asks the generator to choose the next direction. “Simplify the background and leave the subject on the right” gives it an actual edit.
Open the image full screen. Decide whether the main issue is the composition, the subject, or a small detail. Start with the change that matters most to the finished use.
| What you see | What to change in the request |
|---|---|
| The background is too busy | Name a simpler setting and fewer objects |
| The subject is too small | Describe closer framing and the subject’s position |
| The face changed too much | Return to the original and focus on one edit |
| The light feels inconsistent | Describe the light direction and softness |
| The caption area is missing | Place the subject to one side and describe the open space |
Remove conflicting directions
A prompt can ask for a close-up and a full-body view, a dark scene and bright daylight, or a minimal background packed with props. Choose the instruction that matters most.
Rewrite the request as a short scene rather than adding another correction to a list of old ones. Keep the details that serve the image’s purpose.
A clearer replacement prompt
Use a head-and-shoulders portrait with a simple pale background and soft daylight from the left. Keep the face and hairstyle recognizable. Leave space around the head for a profile crop.
Use the original for a new direction
For a new photo edit, start again from the original when the previous version has drifted too far. Keep a copy of the prompt you want to try alongside that source.
Vega’s gallery helps you compare favorite results. It is a useful place to choose the version that works, rather than assuming the newest one is automatically the best.
Check the export for its intended use
Judge the image in the format you will share. A profile image needs a readable small crop; a product post needs recognizable product details; a background image needs room for the foreground content.
Once the result does that job, export it. More variations are only useful when you have another creative decision to make.
Questions
Should I make the prompt longer?
Add detail when a decision is missing. If the prompt contains conflicting requests, simplify it first.
What should I change between versions?
Start with one visible mismatch, such as the crop or background. Keep the rest of the request similar so the comparison is useful.
